Ferretti Group and Fornasetti, iconic design brand with a successful and long history, have created a partnership in the name of Italian quality and of timeless elegance.

WHO IS THE WOMAN BEHIND FORNASETTI PLATES?

The multifaceted figure behind Italy’s creative scene in the XX century, Piero Fornasetti, was an artist, designer and entrepreneur. In the 1940s he founded an atelier in his name, which is still running today, under the artistic direction of his son, Barnaba Fornasetti, producing his original works and spreading his artistic message.

Well known (and often imitated), are his iconic plates painted with a black and white portrait of a mysterious woman (in fact, the opera singer Lina Cavalieri, in those days considered to be “the most beautiful woman in the world”). They also create household objects, furnishings, and accessories with the artist’s distinctive design, with his imagination, humour, nostalgia, metaphors and references. But these are also “conversation pieces”, and still created in the Milan-based atelier by skilled artisans, in limited yearly editions, as precious as artist prints.

FERRETTI GROUP AND FORNASETTI, IN THE NAME OF EXCELLENCE

The partnership between Ferretti Group and Fornasetti was borne from their shared passion for art and design, for excellence and innovation, and also to transfer into the yachting industry, the sophistication and evergreen beauty which has stood out in many homes around the world. Their interest for artisan quality and attention to detail have been translated into the made-to-measure concept of the Custom Line brand by Ferretti Group, who have been designing and building completely customised aluminium and composite yachts and interiors, for nearly thirty years. This can also be seen in the equally iconic aesthetic of Riva, another brand belonging to the Ferretti Group, recognised around the world as an emblem of elegance and naval design.

In order to celebrate this partnership, which will be revealed in the interior design of the next Riva and Custom Line yachts, the private room at Riva’s La Spezia shipyard has been furnished and accessorised by Fornasetti.
