The Baglietto T52, hull number 10238, displacement in steel and aluminium, has won the World Superyacht Award 2024 in the “Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and below, 45m and above” category. This prestigious award, selected by a jury of yacht owners and experts working for Boat International magazine, was given not only for the 135m2 sun lounge, defined as “one of the best spaces on board”, but also for the unusual design of the stern, with its three-level beach club and large disappearing pool.
The jury also appreciated the original design of the yacht, with its retractable staircase connecting the sun deck with the forward lounge on the upper deck, creating a fresh and innovative connection for life on board, and recognised the value of the hybrid propulsion system, allowing the captain to choose the most efficient cruising mode to best save fuel and reduce environmental impact.
“This award – notes Diego Michele Deprati, chief executive officer for Baglietto – fills us with pride and excitement, because it recognises the design on which not only have we built the Baglietto of today, but also that of tomorrow and the future. In this special year, with Baglietto celebrating its 170th anniversary, this award highlights a tradition that, since the beginning, has always proven its skill at innovating and its vision for the future, without ever betraying its roots.”
A SUPERYACT WITH SINGULAR CHARACTERISTICS
The first vessel in a successful range, that in just three years has sold 8 models (delivery planned for next year), the T52 has unique characteristics, that perfectly respond to today’s market demands. The design, by Francesco Paszkowski Design, who curated the exterior and interior, the latter in partnership with Margherita Casprini, recaptures the classic style of Baglietto’s traditional steel displacement vessels under 500 GT, creating a contemporary vessel with a very distinct personality.
Contact with the water is guaranteed through the original open stern design, which has already become a trademark of the new Baglietto, with its three-level beach club, and 3.7 metre disappearing pool, achieved through its up/down bottom, further extending the space on the deck when the pool is not in use.
