Yet another design award for the light up handle by F.lli Razeto & Casareto, a company which has just celebrated 100 years in business
The OSSH multifunctional handle by F.lli Razeto & Casareto, after having won the Luigi Gianneschi innovation award, the palm in the YARE Passarella Pitch contest in 2019 and the MUSE Design Award last year during its hundredth year in business, has also won the A Design Award in the Furniture Accessories, Hardware and Materials category. The award is for the best results in industrial design and has a hundred different categories in order to cover every possible variant.
The international jury of the A Design Awards, made up of over 200 experts in the field, including Alessandro Deserti and Francesco Murano, professors at the Politecnico di Milano, Sotirios Papadopoulos, professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona, the architects Laura Calligari, Domenico Lo Giudice, Elisa Pardini and Cristian Galletti, Ceo of Webgriffe, the designers Florian Seidl, Francesco Longo, Giuliano Ricciardi, the PR Frank R. Scott and the art director Paul Robb, has decided to award the latest product stemming from the research and manufacturing quality of the historical brand from Sori, ranging from sophisticated techniques, like in this case, to fully custom artistry.
This prestigious award has recognised the originality and value of the OSSH handle, whose functionality has increased over time. Initially designed to be easily seen in critical or dangerous conditions, in order to guide and lead yacht and ship passengers to safety in the most intuitive manner possible, today, in addition to bespoke lighting – red to forbid access, green for escape routes – the multifunctional OSSH handle can also self-sterilise. It constantly emits ions of silver and other metals, which avoids contamination from bacteria or viruses on its surface.
