The innovative start-up, GerrisBoats and Azimut|Benetti have signed an agreement to develop the “Gerris” platform for tenders and day boats.

The agreement is for both the construction, by the Group’s manufacturing division, of a first prototype for the Gerris Tender, awarded at the Millennium Yacht Design Award by Seatec, as well as the option to acquire the exclusive selling license for the series.

We are very proud – says Massimo Verme, one of the founders, with satisfaction – in seeing our idea rewarded by the top builder of superyachts in the world. To our knowledge, this is the first time that a start-up in the varied and sometimes misty world of electro-foiling has made an agreement with a large boating group and in particular with one that is so solid.”

The Gerris design is a concentration of “disruptive” technology which stands out distinctively compared to other “foilers”. Fully electric, with a variable height platform stabilised against rolling and pitching even when still, Gerris Tender has been created to “fly” with high energy efficiency and comfort at a slower and safer speed.

The project is the result of two years of development and the construction of the moulds will begin shortly. In addition, GerrisBoats is working on building a self-funded demonstration model of the “GerrisMoto” and online, on their BacktoWork platform, it is running an equity crowdfunding campaign.
