The new design by Heesen is named Akira. The 57-metre long super yacht is under construction in the Oss shipyard. Fully in aluminium, it will be delivered in June 2024.
The new design by Heesen is called YN 20457, and will become the super yacht, “Akira”. The construction of the 57-metre mega yacht has begun in the Oss shipyard, Netherlands.
Akira is the first of a new class of high speed aluminium yacht by the Dutch shipyard. 57 metres long, with a tonnage of around 760 GT, is has a light and ultra-efficient hull, which will allow it to reach maximum speeds of 22 knots, with two MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines.
The fully aluminium hull is the latest refinement of the patented fast displacement hull. Thanks to its low friction hull, Akira is fast but also economical: it needs less energy and consumes up to half the amount of fuel of a conventional steel displacement yacht of the same size. Delivery is scheduled for spring 2024.
With its shallow draught of only 2.3 metres, it is also the ideal yacht for the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas or shallow coastlines in the Mediterranean. For this new generation of yacht, Heesen turned to Frank Laupman of Omega Architects for the exterior design.
“We see great potential – says Arthur Brouwer, CEO of Heesen – for this new model. Akira is the only fast 57 metre motor yacht made fully in aluminium with a North European pedigree, available for delivery in spring of 2024. It is ideal for those clients looking for a combination of speed, efficiency and volume.”
To best design the 400 m2 of interior space, Heesen’s engineering department worked together with Harrison Eidsgaard from the beginning to develop the general layout. The interior design allows Akira’s owner to express themselves and personalise the yacht to adapt it to their lifestyle.
The super yacht made by the Dutch shipyard can welcome up to 12 passengers in 6 comfortable suites. The 63 m2 owner’s cabin is located on the forward main deck and includes a studio, bedroom with wardrobes for him and her, and a full beam bathroom with a bathtub and shower. On the lower deck are 4 double suites, while on the upper deck is the VIP cabin.
All decks are serviced by a glass lift. From dinner outdoors, on the aft terrace, to the large solarium with hot tub, the forward living area and the beach club, owners and their guests will always find the perfect place to relax.
In the meantime, a few days ago, Heesen Yachts, launched their 80-metre mega yacht, “Galactica”. Its transfer was exciting: from the shipyard to the North Sea, through the Dutch canals, passing under a bridge with only a 12 cm gap.
