The Wider Vision Hub in Fano, Marches, saw the launch of the first unit of the WiLder 60 by Wider, Italy’s pioneering shipyard in the application of series hybrid propulsion systems in luxury yachts. The eagerly anticipated arrival of this model marks the brand’s second important achievement in these first months of 2024, after their launch of the WiderCat 92. These surprising additions to the Wider fleet are a symbol of the team’s talent, but also of the shipyard’s growth, from innovative superyachts to all areas of the custom vessel market.
Designed by the Wider Style Centre, the WiLder 60 is proof of the continuing work Wider puts in to achieve the excellence and genius that characterise their new WiLder brand The yacht, built in aluminium and 18.9 metres long, embodies boating excellence through personalised touches and incredible aesthetics, without sacrificing high performance: a masterpiece of design that satisfies even the wildest part in each of us.
LAUNCHING THE FIRST WILDER 60
“Launching the first WiLder 60 from Fano – notes Marcello Maggi, president of W-Fin Sarl, the holding company which owns 100% of Wider shares – is not just a milestone for Wider and for the WiLder brand, but it also marks an important step forward in what a 60-foot vessel can offer, and how it is built. Everything regarding the WiLder 60 is extraordinary, from its performance, its maximum speed of 40 knots, its layout, and completely customisable finishings. This a typical, custom superyacht build, with the highest standards, but in an 18.9 metre aluminium model, with no compromises in quality, made for equally exacting yacht owners. Simply put, there is nothing like her.”
With its high performing hull developed by the shipyard’s engineering team, the first WiLder 60 has a personalised layout and finishings, depending on the owner’s requirements, and has a saloon with kitchen and relaxation area (with sofa and television) two twin suites for passengers at midships and the owner’s cabin to the bow with private bathroom on the starboard side.
The interior uses quality materials like leather in contrasting tones of beige, and marble; while a brilliantly designed and beautiful lighting and finishings reflect Wider’s experience in building some of the best superyachts in the world. Refined textiles and sensual textures reflect the wild soul of the ship, and the essence of the WiLder 60.
But it is when looking at the exterior spaces of this unit, that the wild side is most evident: the forward deck is perfect for a party and the stern is ideal for socialising, thanks to the sun loungers and open air dining area. To starboard is the wheelhouse where the owner can fully enjoy the yacht’s performance, which, with its 2 MAN V8 1300 engines, can reach a cruising speed of 35 knots and a maximum speed of 40. Its 325 nautical mile autonomy also ensures that no party is ever too far away.
“The WiLder 60 – concludes Maggi – is dedicated to all those owners who want to fully enjoy each and every experience, through design, quality and pure fun on the water. This is what we mean when we follow the tailor-made concept, the highest level possible thanks to a product we consider to be revolutionary in its category. The WiLder 60 was created following a ‘wild and provocative’ concept, the kind of challenge that Wider loves to embrace, but this first launch shows that we can build something that goes even beyond the wildest dreams of a yacht owner, while staying under 19 metres.”
Although the first WiLder 60 was launched from the Wider Vision Hub in Fano, the new building and testing facilities for the company, the WiLder series will be built in the Superyacht Hub in Venice, where another 2 units are already under construction..
