Rossinavi, a Tuscan shipyard based in Viareggio, came to the 32nd iteration of the Monaco Yacht Show to share their work in preserving the marine ecosystem, through a multi-sensory installation illustrating new design concepts.

With their “BluE” range, Rossinavi is offering the boating industry luxury superyachts, like electric catamarans, which, thanks to solar panels, guarantee zero emission navigation for 90% of the time. To share this mission with the public, the company set up an Experience Area as part of their stand, offering visitors a full immersion experience of their BluE philosophy. Daily Nautica jumped into this multi-sensory experience and we can guarantee there were some magical incredible moments.

To design the experience, the Tuscan shipyard was inspired by phytoplankton, a vital component of the marine ecosystem. Using mirrors and an LED dynamic screen, an exciting and fully immersive 360 degree experience was created. Once inside the room, visitors then found themselves floating in the waves, just like a piece of plankton.

The Experience Area also showcased Rossinavi’s progress in using AI (artificial intelligence) and infotainment, demonstrating how this technology could be functionally and harmoniously integrated into the luxury yachting context. Indeed, these new systems not only improve the sailing experience, but contribute to reducing the environmental impact of vessels.

THE SHIPYARD

The Rossi shipyard was founded in Viareggio in the 1980s and developed its business almost exclusively in carpentry and nautical and industrial repair. In the 1990s they also specialised in the construction of passenger ships, hulls and superstructures for other shipyards, as well as the manufacture of mechanical components for ship fitting.

In the early 2000s they changed: the company built its first yacht. And while the Rossi shipyard continued building third party yachts, they also consolidated their desire to create a brand that brought together all their experience and knowledge. In 2007, Rossinavi was created, the company’s brand dedicated to the design of full custom yachts for the international market.

In 2020, the company decided to rewrite the concept of recreational cruising following contemporary ethics and environmental concerns. This led to the release of the BluE range, centred around sustainability: these are vessels with optimised performance so as to reduce on board consumption and carbon emissions.
