Swan 128, the largest model of the Maxi range by Nautor Swan and design number 1400 by Frers Design has now entered the varnishing phase. In this phase, the hull, made in carbon fibre composite, is varnished to enhance its elegant shape and to protect it in its future ocean travels.

Swan 128: from cruising to competition

Resulting from a nearly forty-year partnership between the Finnish shipyard and the Argentinian designer, who over the last ten years has brought to life 13 new yachts, 7 of which over 80 feet (size of the Maxi range), the Swan 128, in its 39 metres, concentrates performance and luxury, guaranteeing comfort and safety on board during long ocean crossings.

This new design – explains Germán Frers  – perfectly embodies the Swan concept of sport cruiser, a yacht created for long ocean crossings but also perfectly comfortable taking part in large international competitions, without the need to modify any of its characteristics.

The exterior design, by architect Lucio Micheletti, has a slim and sculpted deckhouse, with a partly raised saloon, which gives the boat its sporty look. The spaces have been studied to achieve the most space and light possible, while the shape and details respond to the need for extreme lightweightness for vessels of this kind, without compromising functionality and safety like all vessels created by the shipyard, which has recently signed a contract for acquisition by Sanlorenzo.

The result is a knowledgeable combination of traditional style and modern shapes, in a play of materials that creates a lively chiaroscuro and dynamic, what Micheletti calls “quayside speed”. The cockpit of the Swan 128, like all Nautor vessels, is organised in three areas. The anterior, closest to the deckhouse and protected by a sprayhood and bimini top (also available in a retractable option) is dedicated to passengers.
