Float-out in Makkum, Netherlands, for the imposing “Moonrise” by Feadship, the evolution of a previous yacht of the same name
Evolving from a previous yacht of the same name, “Moonrise” by Feadship came out in the open in the Makkun site belonging to the Dutch shipyard, revealing its impressive tonnage: 101 metres long, with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, an imposing yet sleek profile, a vertical bow and elegant design, painted grey and white.
Double the quality
“Moonrise” designed by Studio De Voogt with interior by French designer Rémi Tessier, only shares the shape with its ancestor (from 2020), as for the rest it integrates a number of new innovations and technology, that improve aesthetics and functionality. Externally, the most obvious transformation is the elimination of the 5 domes, which in the first Moonrise, held VSAT and TVRO television satellite antennas, now replaced by Starlink receivers hidden in the superyacht’s superstructure.
Much attention has been taken in choosing technical equipment, so as to improve performance and comfort on board. The two propellers and appendages were designed to reduce underwater noise and, as a consequence, noise indoors, just like the anchor windlass, which is completely resilient and has an optimised chain path.
Also new is the layout, with larger outdoor spaces, the sun deck has a massage area, gym and hair salon, while on the command deck there is space for a private cinema. “Moonrise” is now in the completion phase, before being tested at sea, and delivered to its owner.
