At the 61st edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which ended a few days ago, Azimut Yachts once again confirmed its leadership in the American market with 14 new units ordered. The prestigious brand belonging to the Azimut|Benetti Group participated in the event with a fleet of 10 models representing their five collections, including the new Magellano 25 Metres, an absolute novelty for the American market.
“We were certain – notes Federico Ferrante, chairman for Azimut|Benetti America – that the safety of the participants would be managed in the best manner possible by the organisers and we know the huge impact this boat show has on the boating industry and on all of the people working in it. This is the reason that, notwithstanding the uncertainty of these times, we wanted to take part in this edition of FLIBS. It could have been a risk but we are now proud we followed our intuition, which proved itself to be right.”
During the first few days of the boat show, usually the most productive, participation, notwithstanding the Covid-19 emergency, was 12% higher compared to 2019 and, overall, all the models displayed garnered a lot of interest. Of the 14 units ordered from Azimut Yachts, 12 will be for the United States market and 2 for Latin America. The Americas confirm they are one of the top markets for the Italian brand, the top foreign shipyard in overall turnover and seniority in the United States.
Considerable success was also had for the evening event held at the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, during which the short film, “Open Your Eyes” was shown – a tribute to the beauty of Italian art, directed by Gabriele Muccino, in partnership with Azimut Yachts for the launch of the new Magellano 25 Metres.
The event, which saw the participation of the museum director, Franklin Sirmans and the consul general of the Italian consulate in Miami, Cristiano Musillo, was also included as a part of Italian Design Day 2020, “Designing the future. Development, innovation, sustainability, beauty” the annual exhibit promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, for the promotion and internationalisation of Italian design and an expanded system for Italian products.
