From 22 to 25 April, in Genova, the 34th edition of the MYBA Charter Show took place; this well-known international show is dedicated to all types of professionals in the yachting and luxury charting sector. After five iterations in Barcelona, the MYBA decided to return to its roots at the Marina Molo Vecchio, in the heart of the Porto Antico in the Ligurian capital, with over 50 yachts and welcoming around 800 participants.
For this new edition, a Village area was introduced inside the Magazzini del Cotone, with the aim of favouring interaction between yacht crew and stand exhibitors. Divided into eight areas, the MYBA Charter Show 2024 satisfied the needs of all its guests, with visits on board yachts, and networking opportunities thanks to the hospitality lounge and conference room.
YACHTS AT THE PIER
During the event some of the best charter yachts available on the market were presented with lengths ranging between 20 and 100 metres. Standing out among these was certainly the 97.2 metre-long Carinzia VII, the longest at the show, launched by Lürssen in 2002 and represented by Fraser. This extraordinary six-deck yacht can accommodate 14 people in eight cabins and includes a number of extra-luxury services, including a touch-and-go heliport, a two-tender garages, a sauna, and a pool.
Fraser are also the representatives of another superyacht that caught the eye of visitors: this was the 82.5-metre-long Emiro, built by Golden Yachts and recently refitted. Making its debut at the MYBA was the Aquila, an 85.6 metre yacht built in 2010 by Derecktor Shipyards and renovated in 2021. With its incredible main deck, Aquila is the ideal yacht for a dream vacation around the Mediterranean.
Another new entry of note is the King Benji, 47 metres long, and launched just this year by Turkish shipyard, Dunya Yachts. With a modern style interior by the Design Unlimited studio, this yacht can comfortably accommodate up to 10 passengers in 5 cabins, with a vast number of services for an unforgettable charter experience.
MYBA EVENTS
Throughout the show there also many interesting events and social occasions such as the Captain’s Dinner, sponsored by Pesto Sea Group and Catalano Shipping Services, the Exhibitor’s Party at the heart of the exhibition space, Opening Cocktails sponsored by Begum Yachting at Villa Lo Zerbino, and the Crew Thank You. Lastly, a special mention goes to the annual MYBA Superyacht Chef’s Competition, during which superyacht chefs demonstrated their skills in a culinary challenge called “An Italian Fusion Dinner Party” to celebrate MYBA’s Return to Italy.
