The Permare Shipyard chose the Monaco Yacht Show to present to the public its new Amer Steel 41m Explorer, commissioned by its owner at the beginning of the year, and with delivery planned for 2025.
Barbara Amerio, co-owner and sustainability director for the Ligurian Shipyard, together with designer Luiz De Basto, Andrea Piccione, sales director for Volvo Penta, and maritime broker Juan Morillo, US representative for Amer, revealed the first details of this formally and technically innovative design.
The hull, designed internally and externally by De Basto himself (overall design was commissioned to the Italian company, Optima Design), stands out for its original lines and shallow draught. But most excitingly, the Amer Steel 41m Explorer will be equipped with an advanced propulsion system, extremely silent and capable of noticeably reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
This is one of the main focuses of the boating brand, which has been working on sustainability and ecology for some time, never forgetting important questions tied to end of life disposal for these large pleasure boats.
Also innovative is the system used for launching and recovering tenders, created to make all operations faster and, most importantly, safer. The Amer Steel 41m Explorer will be able to cruise at 12 knots and reach a maximum speed of 15 knots, and can host up to 10 passengers in five comfortable cabins, in addition to 8 crew members.
