We saw the megayacht Utopia docked in Genova, at the Marina Molo Vecchio in the Porto Antico, just behind another giant of the seas, the megayacht, Madsummer.

The motor yacht, Utopia, is 71.6 metres long and was built by the Dutch shipyard Feadship in 2004, and then refitted in 2018. Up to 12 passengers can spend the night in six comfortable cabins, with refined and elegant interiors, styled and curated by British design studio, RWD.

The spaces on this pleasure boat are distributed over six decks. One of these is completely dedicated to the owner, one for sun lounging, while the main deck has a relaxation area and social area both inside and out. A lower deck is dedicated to the crew, which can be up to 17 people, to guarantee a comfortable space to move around the yacht without having to access areas dedicated to the passengers.

The contemporary styled interiors have modern furniture, with a backdrop of light durmast panels with mahogany inlay. Two large guest suites are on the lower deck and another four on the forward main deck, while the entire upper deck is a 200 square-metre owner’s suite.

Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the Utopia has plenty of space on board and is more stable at anchor thanks to its displacement hull. It has two Caterpillar engines, to navigate comfortably at 14 knots and reach a maximum speed of 15 knots, with autonomy of up to 5000 nautical miles. The fuel tanks can hold 156,700 litres.

The Utopia also has a number of water toys. Among these are two Lazer sail boats, Waverunner jet skis, water skis, wakeboard, kayak, and windsurfing and diving equipment. There are also three tenders on board one of which is an 8.5 metre rib.

The Utopia works on charter in the Mediterranean in the summer, and moves to warmer waters in the winter. A week on board costs 435 thousand euros, plus expenses.
