The Genoese shipyard, T. Mariotti and Neptune Co, a joint venture between Aman Group and Cruise Saudi, have signed an agreement for the construction of “Project Sama”, the first cruise ship for the luxury brand, Aman, and a new and singular concept in the luxury sea resort niche.

183 metres long and around 23 thousand tonnes in gross tonnage, this ship is not only the first new build dual-fuel design for T. Mariotti but, at the time of delivery, it will be a new benchmark for the future of environmental standards.

Project Sama will have ample public spaces and unrivalled entertainment, accommodating passengers in 50 beautiful suites, all exceptionally luxurious. The interior design is by Sinot, an internationally famous yacht designer.

It is a privilege for us – notes Marco Ghiglione, chief executive officer for T. Mariotti – to have the opportunity of working with Aman, one of the top players in high level hospitality. We are proud to offer our experience in the construction of luxury ships to this new and stimulating company, which offers a singular combination of elegance, safety and versatility, and will innovate the art of ocean cruising. This is yet another demonstration of the skills and ability of Italian industry to satisfy the needs of the most exacting clients in the world.”

Among the suppliers and local businesses working on this exciting concept are, De Wave for internal finishes, and Ortec Santamaria, which will create the electric systems and further consolidate their partnership with T. Mariotti in new-build luxury projects.

The launch of Project Sama, whose official name will be released soon, is planned for 2026.
