A concentration of luxury and technology, all in a 59.7 metre long boat: this is the sailing yacht, Sarissa, which we saw in roads off Porto Pollo, in Sardinia, only a few months after it was launched.

The Sarissa was built by Royal Huisman, in the Netherlands, at the Vollenhove shipyard.

The interior was designed by Studio Liaigre and it was delivered to its owner a few weeks ago in May 2023. The exterior design is by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design.

Sarissa can comfortably accommodate up to 12 passengers in 6 suites. It can also transport up to 10 crew members. The sailing yacht has an aluminium hull, carbon fibre superstructure, and decks in teak.

Its shallow draught allows Sarissa to access shallow areas along the coast.

Construction on the yacht began in 2019, in secret, as asked by the owners. For a long time, the boat was only known by its project name: MM597. A name which also held a clue about the ship – its overall length (59.7 metres).

Above the ample cockpit is a rollbar with the mainsail traveller attached. It has an inverted bow and the transom has an opening as wide as the boat’s beam. Fun fact: the name Sarissa comes from the lance used by warriors in the ancient Macedonian Empire.
