Fraser Yachts, world leader in the selling and charter of luxury vessels, brought another one of its gems to the Monaco Yacht Show 2023. We are talking about the Flying Manta, a 43 metre long explorer, with aluminium hull and superstructure, launched in Australia by the NQEA shipyard.
The yacht was delivered in 2004, but over the years it has undergone a very thorough refit and modernisation. The most important works, which finished in March 2023, include a 6-metre extension of the stern, the addition of a Lloyd-certified heliport, a new swimming platform and a complete renovation of the interior.
Thanks to the refit, the Flying Manta responds perfectly to new superyacht market trends and is available for sale through Fraser Yachts. In order to better understand its characteristics, Daily Nautica interviewed Peter Redford, chief executive officer for Fraser Yachts Australia, during the Monaco event.
ON BOARD THE FLYING MANTA
“We extended the stern by 6 metres – explains Peter Redford – this way we we extended the Main Deck and Sun Deck where we created the helideck. This yacht is perfect for owners who want to enjoy a pleasant experience on board with all the comforts. The cockpit can be closed off and the air conditioning turned on: making this part of the boat enjoyable in every season, summer or winter.”
Stepping onto the upper deck is the heliport and to the bow is the relaxation area with a sun lounge and luxurious jacuzzi.
INTERIOR LAYOUT
The interior of the Flying Manta, decorated by Ivo Enrico Poluzzi studio in partnership with Analu, has a mix of wood with orange and red elements. The main saloon has a dinette and round dining table to the bow, while to the stern is a spacious living area with leather sofas and armchairs.
Continuing along the Main Deck is the Master Suite connected to a 50 square metre office. A spiral staircase leads to the VIP cabin on the lower deck with a double bed that can be converted into a twin, and a second staircase leads to the other two double cabins and two that can be converted. In total there are 6 cabins that can accommodate up to 12 people.
The Flying Manta is equipped with a pair of MTU 2,735 HP engines allowing the yacht to reach maximum speeds of 24 knots, with an autonomy of 4000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
