The new Codecasa Classic Yacht 110’ F80, a 33.5 metre long yacht built in a classic style but with very modern performance, is the second partnership between the Viareggio-based shipyard and Studio NAMES, which worked on the naval architecture and structural calculations. As in the previous 24-metre Vero, Francesco Rogantin’s studio, based in Varazze, continues working on the Linea Classica range for Codecasa, this time also curating the entire outfitting process of both the hull and decks.

CODECASA CLASSIC YACHT 110’ F80: RETRO DESIGN AND MODERN PERFORMANCE

One of the characteristics of the Linea Classica by the Codecasa Shipyard – explains Francesco Rogantinis the union of retro design with navigational performance. For the semi-displacement hull with traditional lineshaft transmission, we did not do a basin test, but used computational fluid dynamics simulations, also known as numerical simulations, which have allowed us to estimate a maximum speed of a little under 22 knots and an autonomy of 1200 nautical miles at 12 knots. In regards to the hull geometry, it is important to note that it is a hard chine, with a special design for the propeller tunnel.

Studio NAMES have also designed the on board systems, which the future owner of the Codecasa Classic Yacht 110’ F80 wanted with specific equipment, including CMC Marine HSO80 7kW stabilisers, a CMC TP50 bow thruster and two EFOFDJ 55kW generators, in addition to electric trims. Propulsion is through the use of a pair of MAN V12 1550hP engines (1140kW) at 2300rpm with ZF 2050 reducers.

The interior and exterior style was curated by Luca Dini Design & Architecture – notes Rogantin – and is very traditional, enriched through the use of polished mahogany, especially on the exterior. The widespread use of wood finishings has been carefully paired with the aluminium structure. In particular, the window frames are all mahogany, and the aft hold door is also covered in wood. Lastly, another singularity of the Codecasa Classic Yacht 110’ F80 is the garage located under the deck, accessed through a lateral door, created to store a 5 metre tender.
