The new ICE 80, a mixture of technical skill and creative vision, places ICE Yachts in the large luxury sailing yachts segment
ICE Yachts have begun building their flagship ICE 80 Blue Water Sport, a large luxury sailing yacht which marks the shipyard’s entrance in this segment. The vessel, which will be ready for delivery in 2026, combines exclusive design, high performance and comfort, thanks to their partnership with Felci Yacht Design. ICE Yachts have already worked with this studio on a series of interesting designs, including the much appreciated ICE 70, with its modern silhouette and technological innovation.
A decade of partnership with the Italian design studio has led to an original approach in the construction of sailing yachts, a fusion of technical skill and creative vision. The result is a distinctive ICE Yachts design which is also honed in every aspect: from naval architecture to structure, layout, deckhouse design and deck design. With the addition of advanced engineering in the construction process and systems, curated by the shipyard’s technical department, to guarantee safety and quality.
“With the ICE 80 Blue Water Sport – explains Marco Malgara, CEO for ICE Yachts – we are raising the bar even higher, bringing to the market a product that is not just a vessel, but a piece of nautical art. We are convinced that this design will respond to the needs of our most demanding clients and will also define a new concept for a luxury sailing yacht, combining extraordinary performance, timeless elegance and advanced technology.”
Artisan skill and industrial innovation
The new ICE 80 is being built in the Salvirola shipyard in Cremona, with a combination of artisan derived methods and advanced technical processes, with some of the most specialised industry know-how in Italy.
The hull, deck and structure of the sailing yacht are entirely in carbon fibre, built using the “one shot” vacuum infusion technique. A method that provides a lightweight and resistant result, for high sailing performance thanks to its construction quality, reliability of the industrial process and extremely precise assembly.
New standards in luxury sailing
The layout of the ICE 80 Blue Water Sport includes a dual cockpit on deck, to separate the manoeuvring area from the passenger area, with large side decks and a lowered and streamlined deckhouse. The layout of the aft spaces includes a spacious bridge and garage for storing a 3.5m tender. The interiors have been designed with a large saloon, a generously sized owner’s cabin and two VIP cabins, in addition to the crew area, with independent access, with two separate double cabins, kitchen command and mapping area.
