The word “nirvana” means “a state of spiritual bliss, of a total absence of passion, pain and physical sensations”. In short, this is what the lucky passengers on board this megayacht will find, as it has the same name.
In these days, the Nirvana, one of the best yachts in the world, dedicated to luxury charter, is in Genoa, docked at the end of the pier in the Magazzini del Cotone. 88.5 metres long (290.35 feet) it was delivered by the Dutch shipyard, Oceanco in 2012. The interior and exterior design was curated by the Australian designer Sam Sorgiovanni.
With a steel hull, aluminium superstructure, a slightly flared bow, and a side which slopes steeply from the midship, the yacht’s profile is different from any other. With plenty of space dedicated to socialisation and sun bathing, Nirvana offers its passengers a 7.5 metre long pool.
To move around the 6 decks, passengers can use a central glass lift decorated with engraved silver bands. The décor is contemporary with neutral tones. The megayacht can carry up to 12 passengers, housed in 6 well-furnished cabins, including a master suite of 150 square metres, a full beam VIP suite, and 4 double cabins. To these are also added the cabins for the 27 crew members.
After a day spent enjoying the solarium, pool, and swims in the sea, passengers can also enjoy watching a 3D film, in the cinema on the lower deck, complete with a bar and popcorn machine, or they can relax while admiring the aquarium and plant nursery inspired by the rainforest of a tropical island which livens up the common areas.
But the fun for the passengers doesn’t stop here. During their stay, in addition to being able to land or leave directly onto the yacht by helicopter, they can enjoy the gym, jacuzzi on the top deck, sauna, Turkish bath, massage parlour and a garage for a tender and water toys of every kind. Reaching “nirvana” on board this megayacht costs 900 thousand euros a week, plus expenses. This is the quote given by the charter company.
It has a displacement hull and is equipped with a fin keel and an ultramodern stabilisation system. Nirvana also has anchor stabilisers, which increases onboard comfort when the yacht is mooring. With a cruising speed of 16 knots and a maximum speed of 20 knots, it can take on up to 284,970 litres of fuel, for an autonomy of 6,800 miles.
