The motor and sailing flagships of the Venice Boat Show, showcased to the public from 29 May to 6 June at the Arsenale, will have to fight it out with another great star of this year’s event: electric boating. The Arsenale, in the meantime, is nearly ready and the second edition of the Show is taking shape with the arrival of 220 vessels and 160 exhibitors who from Saturday the 29th will be at the event.

For motorboats, the flagship will be the Ferretti 1000, the largest yacht in the Ferretti Yachts range, whose French owner, explained the chairman of the Ferretti Group, Alberto Galassi, wanted his new boat to be presented at the Venice Show. Thirty metres have also been reserved for the DP 100, exhibited by Dalla Pietà. The Azimut Benetti Group, instead, is showcasing the Magellano 26, the latest in the series.

In the sailing section, the flagship will be the Mylius 76, a shipyard based in the province of Piacenza specialised in the manufacture of performance cruisers, often competition winners, recently restructured, leading to a revamp of the entire range.

ELECTRIC BOATS AT THE VENICE BOAT SHOW

A special section will be dedicated to boats using electric propulsion, and which will also take part in a race, the E-Regatta. A spotlight will also be focused on Candela hull foiling, a very interesting solution for Venice, due to its reduced wave movement and on Anvera E-Lab, an offshore using electric propulsion which will attempt to beat the speed record for electric engines. The aim is to exceed 100 km/h.

SPORTS IN THE LAGOON

There are two sporting events taking place during the event: the arrival of the famous Raid Pavia-Venezia motorboats, returning after many years’ absence with the participation of over 100 vessels and with strict safety protocols, and the  Campionato Italiano Match Race, starring champions of the calibre of Tommaso Chieffi and Vasco Vascotto and young up and coming competitors in the specialisation at the base of the America’s Cup.
