The “Vista” has been launched from the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente; the first of two new generation cruise ships, which will begin the “Allura class” of ships of the company Oceania Cruises, a brand of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.
“Vista” will have a gross tonnage of around 67 thousand tonnes and will be able to hold 1,200 passengers, assisted by 800 crew members, for a three to two ratio. The interiors were designed with a mixture of large and welcoming spaces, to offer the luxury experience of a small cruise ship, characteristic of the company, but with a new and fresher interpretation.
“Vista” will stand out for its high level of innovation focussing on sustainability. Future legislation will increasingly encourage more solutions guaranteeing a reduction in environmental impact, and Fincantieri wants to be a step ahead of those trends, so that its products become a point of reference for the market. Fincantieri had already delivered other two ships to Oceania Cruises, “Marina” in 2011 and “Riviera” in 2012, both built in the Sestri Ponente shipyard.
Also part of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. are the brands Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), for which the Group is building 6 new generation First Class cruise ships, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, to whose fleet has been added the extra luxury “Seven Seas Explorer” and “Seven Seas Splendor”, built respectively in 2016 in Sestri Ponente and 2020 in Ancona. A third ship for this brand will be delivered in 2023.
