The German shipyard, Lurssen has launched the hull of “Blue”, a 160 metre mega yacht with a gross tonnage of 15,320 GT and a beam of 22.5 metres.

The unit has been designed by Terence Disdale, while the naval architecture was developed by Lurssen. The hull is in steel and the superstructure is in aluminium. The bow has a large flat area on the main deck, to allow for helicopter landings.

The designers were able to noticeably increase its volume which, compared to other yachts of the same size, is much more spacious and comfortable with its interiors.

At the moment the yacht is flying a German flag, while we wait to find out its new name and who its owner will be.  The German shipyard Lurssen in known for its manufacture of large yachts, even over 100 metres long, many of which have become icons of luxury and symbols of the fleet of the largest yachts in the world.
