The acquisition of SLAM reflects MSC’s efforts to invest in quality, innovation and Italian know-how
MSC Cruises have announced that they have acquired from Vam Investments, SLAM, a long-standing Italian company specialising in sailing and sports clothing. This reflects MSC’s long-standing efforts to invest in quality, innovation and Italian know-how, identifying potential partners that work in line with its maritime “DNA” and strategies. Both companies share a deep passion for the water as well as values of authenticity, innovation and excellence, rooted in a common culture and marine tradition.
The presence and international importance of MSC will support the development and visibility of SLAM on international markets, giving this iconic Italian brand, founded in Genova in 1979, good prospects for stability and long-term growth, strengthening their solid reputation and leadership position in the sailing, yachting and sporting segments.
SLAM will continue to work and invest in its traditional activities, while developing a new division for the business-to-business sector, which includes the production of uniforms and clothing for companies in the MSC Group. This will further enhance the Genova-based company’s technical expertise and design excellence, while still preserving the brand’s strong identity, focus and successful history in sportswear.
