SHE: the “new” great classic by Sanlorenzo uniting tradition and innovation

Created in close collaboration with Zuccon International Project and Lissoni & Partnerslasting 5 years, SHE is short for Sanlorenzo Heritage and is an exclusive production offering, not the beginning of a new range.

Launching SHE during the twentieth anniversary of my custodianship of Sanlorenzo is deeply meaningful: SHE is a bridge between what we’ve inherited and what we choose to become.”

Inspired in the design by the 1960s, the architecture however, is modern and fluid, adapting to the needs of the owner, but with a high-tech soul.

Her design language is coherent with the shipyard’s DNA. “SHE is not just a yacht – notes Bernardo Zuccon, from design studio Zuccon International Project – but memory in motion. It is the result of a design journey rooted in the tradition of Italian shipbuilding, defined by craftsmanship, culture and aesthetic sensitivity, and which, with respect, opens itself to new visions. Every line, every volume of SHE originates from the desire to reinterpret forms and proportions that marked an era, giving them a contemporary language.”

The stern opens at anchor transforming itself into a large sea-level terrace, while the main deck, fitted with a sustainable, synthetic reinterpretation of natural teak, chosen for its near-zero maintenance and for reducing surface temperature by 3-4°C, unfolds on a single level, free from physical barriers, with a spacious and adaptable cockpit, a blank canvas for the owner to personalise.

The superstructure is developed across two staggered levels, with sundeck and solarium to the bow. The modular Smart Island system, designed by Sanlorenzo with its partners, allows for agile, flexible configurations, without the need for fixed elements that would obstruct the transparency of the surrounding glazing.

Classic interiors

Spaces are large and filled with light through the full-height windows. The interior spaces are conceived as fluid environments and evoke the atmosphere of a mid-century Milanese lounge, with mahogany finishes, tailored detailing and fine materials.

Owner’s cabin

“SHE – says Piero Lissoni, art director for Sanlorenzo and founder of Lissoni & Paertners – is a gentle yacht, it reuses traditional elements and evokes the grace of the 1960s but leaps forward to 2030. SHE is a modern yacht with many innovations, simply expressed through a softened aesthetic language.”

The layout is classic, on three levels, with a mezzanine connecting the main and lower decks. At stern, the day area includes an elevated salon that connects directly to the cockpit, bar and helm station. A sculptural circular staircase leads to the slightly lower mezzanine, which houses the dining area, directly linked to a spacious, fully-equipped galley, and the crew quarters (two cabins for three people), following a layout designed to ensure privacy and functionality.

The technological heart of SHE

SHE is the first yacht in the Sanlorenzo fleet to integrate the Volvo Penta IPS hybrid propulsion system, a dual-energy solution (electric and diesel) equipped with twin IPS30 (2 x 1000HP) units for a cruising speed of up to 20 knots in hybrid mode, and up to 9 knots in full-electric mode, navigating silently and with zero emissions.

The battery recharges automatically in 45 minutes when navigating in diesel mode, so as not to utilize a generator at night, and a “booster” mode adds an electric push to the diesel propulsion, improving performance and reducing the number of rpms for the engine.

SHE’s personalised tender, electric and ultra-light using carbon fibre, is 3.95 metres long and also reflects the philosophy of Sanlorenzo’s new yacht, which is evident in the construction of the hull, using sandwich lamination to reduce weight and bio-based resins for sustainability.
