Three international luxury yachting companies for the new Ocean Yachts shipyard, making its debut in Monaco
The new shipyard, Ocean Yachts presented their first design at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025 – their displacement yacht, Oceans 47, made in steel and aluminium. Founded by the union of three international businesses (OceanWorld Group from Dubai, point of referene for luxury yachting in the Middle East, Vripack Design Studio, an excellent industry designer from the Netherlands, and Wider, Italian shipyard specialised in engineering solutions and responsible technology), Oceans Yacht intends to enter the market with vessels that are a manifestation of ambition, authenticity and contemporary luxury, for demanding and visionary yacht owners.
Oceans 47: the Oceans Yachts vision
With clean and evergreen lines, Oceans 47 responds to the need for understated elegance, comfort and safety. Large windows bring natural light to the interior, giving the feeling of being suspended between sea and sky. The owner’s suite, on the forward upper deck, the 6 guest cabins, 3 lounges and private cinema, have been created to be fluid spaces, where passengers can move intuitively, adding interest through materials and artificial lighting.
“Our objective, since 1961 – explains Bart M. Bouwhuis, partner and co-creative director for Vripack Design Studio – is to create yachts that provide safe travels, that are comfortable and pleasant. With Oceans 47 we wanted to express what we call ‘practical elegance’: a timeless design, interiors that dialogue with natural light and lines that imparts harmony and functionality. This yacht represents the perfect union of our holistic approach to design, where aesthetics and engineering live together to provide an authentic experience.”
The design studio, in partnership with Wider, also worked on the technological heart of Oceans 47, providing efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, silent and environmentally respectful navigation. “We were created to rethink yachts – notes Marcello Maggi, at the helm of W-Fin Sarl, the holding company with 100% of Wider’s capital – and with Oceans 47 we have brought this philosophy to a whole new level. The propulsion and engineering solutions on board allow the vessel to travel with reduced consumption and emission, giving owners more liveable space and superior comfort. The real innovation is what we cannot see, but can be felt on board: freedom and a different way of enjoying the water. Oceans 47 is the symbol of how passion can be transformed into an unforgettable experience.”
The first step of what is to come
This innovative approach, also concerning how the yacht works at sea, is a clear declaration of intent, a starting point as well as an achievement for rethinking the design and construction of pleasure yachts. “For our group – explains Lydia Pascarelli, CEO of OceanWorld Group – Oceans 47 is the concrete expression of a partnership that unites design excellence and engineering innovation. We wanted to embody the idea of authentic luxury, without renouncing efficiency and that looks bravely to the future of yachting. Oceans 47 represents a milestone for our vision and a starting point for what is to come.”
