The first edition of the World Yachting Summit which took place in the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, included the participation of key stakeholders in the yachting industry, including internationally recognised shipyard, leading to an interesting debate on the innovation, sustainability and market development.

Daily nautica, media partner for the event, closely followed the most significant moments of the event and had the opportunity to interview Arjen van Elk, manager of the sales department for Feadship, to discuss the green vision and work of the famous Dutch shipyard.

COMPANY SUCCESS

The secret to the success of our company – Arjen van Elk explains to DN – is not so easy to explain: certainly a large part of our success is due to the quality of our work and allows us to satisfy the needs of our clients. It is something that has taken a long time, and has led to partnerships with important shipyards, and acquiring a lot of experience.”

FEADSHIP’S GREEN SOLUTIONS

Around 6 years ago – says Arjen van Elk – we posed ourselves an objective to reach zero emissions by 2030. It is an ambitions challenge, but over these past few years we have taken some incredible leaps in this direction, building yachts with hybrid systems and adopting new propulsion solutions. In addition, we concentrated on vessel design, so that they are as efficient as possible. Almost all of our yachts, therefore, reflect our sustainable agenda.”
