The Düsseldorf International Boat Show has presented us with exciting news. One of these bits of news has been provided by Azimut. In the splendid lounge designed by the architect Michele De Lucchi, the Avigliana-based shipyard revealed its new S7. This is a 22 metre motoryacht with all the characteristics of the latest generation of the S Series.
The team that worked on the design was a partnership between yacht designer, Alberto Mancini and the Italian boutique Yachtique. From this partnership came an extremely environmentally hi-tech design. The new S7, thanks to its eco-friendly characteristics, is part of Azimut’s Low Emission Yachts.
THE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY YACHT
For many years, Azimut has been investing in research for innovative solutions to reduce the environmental impact of its vessels. Low Emission Yachts guarantee a reduction in fuel consumption, and as a consequence, of CO2 emissions, from 20 to 30% compared to vessels of the same weight. Objectives that were achieved through the use of a series of innovative elements, starting with adopting more efficient propulsion, made up, in the case of the S7, of 3 Volvo IPS engines.
In addition, better performing hydrodynamic hulls were designed in partnership with Ausonio Naval Architecture, and the use of carbon fibre made the vessel much lighter. The S7 is therefore the result of careful technological research which has reduced consumption and CO2 emissions by 30% at medium and high speeds, in line with Azimut’s Low Emission Yachts’ mission.
THE INTERIORS OF THE NEW S7
Yachtique, working for the first time with Azimut, gave the final touch to the interior. The Italian boutique has expressed its creativity through the creation of a modern saloon flooded with natural light coming from lateral windows. The owner’s suite, with its fresh colours represents the best of this residential style created by Yachtique. A dressing room and private bathroom complete this splendid atmosphere. In total there are 4 cabins, plus one for the crew.
OTHER NEWS FROM BOOT
The German boat show was also the perfect stage to preview the new model being released in September, the Magellano 60, completing the Magellano series. A range of crossovers created for owners who love long cruises full of adventure and charm, totally revisited by the genius pen of Ken Freivokh. Magellano 60, with its second-generation Dual Mode hull, is also a part of the Low Emission yacht family.
