Elegance, beauty and innovation. The season of great boat shows has begun and, as per tradition, the entire “boating population” – builders, designers and owners, alongside reporters and sail and motor boat hobbyists – is meeting up along the Cote d’Azur for the 2023 iteration of the Cannes Yachting Festival. As always, Daily Nautica is here to share with you the latest and most interesting news in the boating industry day by day.

The air is vibrating with energy. Each exhibitor is ready to do their best. Internationally famous names in the shipbuilding industry have opened this first day by organising events and presentations. There are even those who, like Sanlorenzo, have organised their very own ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday evening, with an elegant pre-show press conference, right next to the water, filled with vessels on display, followed by a gala dinner.

Kind hostesses wearing fascinating, elegant straw hats welcomed guests including industry professionals, yacht owners and hobbyists, all eager to step on board the marvellous vessels on display at the French boat show.

CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL: A FEW STATISTICS

Until Sunday, 17 September, those visiting this glamorous event will find over 600 exhibitors and 650 vessels ranging from 5 to 50 metres, ready and waiting along the 5 kilometres of piers between Port Canto and Port Vieux.

PORT CANTO: SAILING, BROKERAGE AND TOYS

Port Canto is dedicated to the beauty of sailing, with 120 vessels from 10 to 26 metres (70 single hull and 50 multihull). This is also the location of the “Start Up Village”, which, as the name shows, brings together the start ups working for a future of sustainable and more efficient boating, a selection of vessels over 20 metres for hire and brokerage, as well as a section for Toys.

PORT VIEUX: MOTORYACHT HEAVEN

Motoryacht lovers will have great fun at Port Vieux. From small 5-metre vessels to 45-metre superyachts, there are over 480 units both on land and in the water. New to this year’s edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival is a new “Small Boat Area” dedicated exclusively to motorboats from 8 to 11 metres, also located in the Vieux Port.
