The M/Y “Hawa” was launched from the Benetti shipyard in Livorno. A full custom 48-metre unit designed in partnership with the well-known English studio, RWD, who designed both the interior and exterior. The owner, a passionate and expert boater, said he was very happy with the results, applauding the shipyard, of which he is a repeat client, for its excellent know-how and its skill in bringing to life a completely bespoke design.
Characterised by its elegant exterior design, the “Hawa” stands out for the “desert sand” tones of the hull (chosen by the owner) and for its original layout, focusing on the desire of creating a constant contact between the indoor and outdoor environment, accented through the use of refined elements and materials for the décor. Among these, what stands out in particular is the opaque, polished eucalyptus with dark walnut details and different types of leather and marble inserts.
The vessel, scheduled for delivery this summer, can host up to 10 passengers and 9 crew members (including the captain). On the Main Deck, to the bow, in the area traditionally reserved for the galley, there is a pantry and a large VIP cabin with a shower/sauna (by owner request), just before the large, full beam master cabin, with drop down lateral windows, complete with a private study, bed, two wardrobes, a lounge area and bathroom. On the same deck is also the living room, incredibly bright thanks to its 5 openings to the outside.
On the Lower Deck, in addition to the 3 double guest cabins and the galley, complete with dumbwaiter in order to serve all the decks, there is also the beach area, with two lateral sides that transform into platforms overlooking the sea and are added to the beach on the stern and to the beach club, inside which there is also a comfortable L-shaped sofa, a bathroom with shower/sauna and an area dedicated to fishing and diving equipment, one of the owner’s passions.
On the Upper Deck, to the stern, instead, is the sun lounge area, created for socialising outdoors, while in the indoor areas there is the bright sky lounge with two large opening side windows, a pantry, and equipped gym (also with opening side windows), and the wheelhouse, complete with full length windows surrounding the room for 180°, and a futuristic light bridge console, developed by Benetti, and that the owner preferred to the classic wheel.
The level of integrated software is extremely advanced, deriving from military technology, and the choice of ceiling-fixed monitors and a Besenzoni ergonomic captain’s chair, has allowed for all the commands to be located on two small “stands” as if they were a part of the captain’s chair itself. The rack and navigational equipment are located inside the two dedicated rooms at the entrance to the bridge.
Lastly, the Sun Deck, created to take advantage of any time of the day, has the areas of the bow and stern separated by a wind breaker with sliding doors, increasing the feeling of privacy for the owner and his passengers. The stern area, with a table for 12 people and a large sofa, can be transformed into a cinema and can be accessed from an external staircase. The bow area, instead, characterised by a well supplied bar, a table for 4 and a forward facing sun lounger, is accessed by the crew through a separate staircase.
The hull, designed by the studio, P.L.A.N.A., in partnership with Azimut Benetti’s Research and Development department, ensures high performance and excellent handling, guaranteeing safe and comfortable sailing. The engine room houses a pair of 1,268 Kw MTUs, allowing the yacht to reach maximum speeds of 15.5 knots, an autonomy of 4,000 nautical miles, and a cruising speed of 10 knots.
