The imposing 122 metre megayacht “Kismet” left the shipyard for her maiden voyage

2 minutes of reading

The megayacht “Kismet” built by German shipyard Lürssen, is on its maiden voyage. Commissioned by an expert client, who already owns a couple of vessels built by the yard, this imposing design was curated by Italian studio, Nuvolari-Lenard, the vessel is 122 metres long (including bowsprit), 17.80 metres wide, and has an exceptional amount of internal space, contrary to what it may seem when looking at its sleek and elegant profile, inspired by a jumping jaguar.

A DETAILED BRIEF AND A CUTTING EDGE DESIGN

The owner’s brief was difficult – explains Peter Lürßenbut I believe that, thanks to our technical skill, we were able to satisfy the desires and vision of the owner, creating a yacht that is timeless yet progressive and cutting edge for many years to come. A result we achieved thanks to the excellent design (and exchange of ideas) by the designers of Nuvolari Lenard and Reymond Langton, with our internal team, as well as the expert professionals representing the owner, Kyle and Gerry Fulz.

With cutting-edge technology, Kismet has been equipped by Lürssen with hybrid propulsion combined with a full electric mode, positioning it among the most powerful yet efficient superyachts from an energy standpoint. In addition, an excess heat recovery system heats the pool water, while the dynamic positioning of the electric anchor allows for dropping anchor in protected or remote areas, highlighting the shipyard’s desire for improved sustainability and safety.

The interior was curated by British studio, Reymond Langton Design and reflects the tastes and needs of the owner: an open plan layout developing fluidly over multiple levels with a high ceilinged entry, videowall, a Nemo cinema room on the lower deck, an underwater living room and a “7-star” wellness area. Kismet’s first sailing season will be in the Mediterranean and the superyacht is also available for charter through Cecil Wright.
