The AS8 from Spanish shipyard Astondoa is a 25 metre flybridge that can reach a maximum speed of 32 knots. This is our visit on board
With their first appearance at the Venice Boat Show, the Spanish shipyard, Astondoa, lived up to expectations, bringing some of their top models to the city. Along the pier of the Arsenal, in front of Astondoa’s Italian dealers Frattin Yachting’s stand, were two units from the Flybridge As range, and a sporty motorboat, the 377 Coupé.
The As range burst onto the market in 2020 with the launch of the larger model for this line of cruisers, the As8, a yacht that is in great demand for clients who prioritise socialising and comfort on board. To better understand the details of this best seller, Daily Nautica interviewed Ione Astondoa, shipyard manager and daughter of the current CEO, Jesus Astondoa.
ON BOARD THE AS8
This flybridge is 25.5 metres long and is also dubbed a “masterpiece of the sea”. Indeed, the AS8 masterfully blends the performance of the flybridge with the elegance and comfort of a proper superyacht. With a bold style and impeccable functionality, the AS8 embodies the essence of luxury, thanks to its contemporary design and meticulous details. The yacht is spacious and has an intelligent layout, with large lateral windows offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding seascape. The main deck has an innovative layout where the main saloon creates an open space with the kitchen and dining area.
INTERIOR DESIGN
For the interior design, Astondoa partnered with Italian studio, Cristiano Gatto Design, who enhanced the contemporary style using high quality materials. The AS8 can accommodate up to 12 passengers in four cabins with private bathroom, as well as two crew cabins. The layout of the lower deck can be personalised: the shipyard iffers two possible configurations for the owner’s cabin, with a separate bathroom, or connected to the main room.
