The longstanding shipyard, Riva, have announced the construction of the first Riva 70 Metre, the biggest flagship super yacht in the history of the brand. The vessel will be built in the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, the 80,000m2 shipyard where all unites from 50 to 90 metres are built for the brands Riva, Pershing, CRN and Custom Line.

With innovative spaces and an elegant design, this steel hull model with aluminium superstructure is a ship of incomparable beauty, which not only stands out for its innovative technological solutions, its refined design and an unprecedented level of comfort, but it also perfectly combines performance with environmental sustainability.

The Riva 70 Metre will have the latest generation of hybrid propulsion, with heat recovery technology and a PTO-PTI system, making it a leader in sustainable naval design. Great care has been taken in reducing noise levels on board, thanks to the use of innovative solutions to minimise noise and vibration, and improve the stabilisation system.

The owner, already a passionate Riva client, worked together with the design team to create the superyacht of his dreams, which, like all recent Riva yachts, is the result of the fruitful partnership between the Strategic Product Committee and the Engineering Department of Ferretti Group and Officina Italiana Design studio founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta.

The Riva 70 Metre – notes Alberto Galassi, CEO for Ferretti Group – announces itself as the most exciting project of the next few years. It is a superyacht with a timeless beauty, which will be a size that has never before been seen in the Riva universe, combined with advanced technology in terms of navigation and sustainability. This spectacular vessel is a manifesto of style, design and innovation that will majestically and elegantly guide the fantastic fleet of new Riva masterpieces.”

The owner, a sophisticated and extremely selective person – note Micheli and Beretta, respectively Chief Designer and CEO for Officina Italiana Design – already had a clear idea: to build a timeless vessel with a classic design and a green heart in order to sail while protecting the environment. He was impressed by the Riva 50 Metre and dreamt of a design that was inspired by that, dominated by aesthetics, beyond trends and markets which often condition the creation of a new product. And so we enthusiastically took on the challenge, because these values reflect those of our studio and are part of our design philosophy.”
