Once again this year, the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Cannes Yachting Festival was preceded by the press conferences held by some of the leading shipyards in the boating industry. The evening before the French event opened, as is usual, Sanlorenzo took to the stage with an event called: “Twenty years shaping the future”.
Cavalier Massimo Perotti, executive chairman for Sanlorenzo, welcomed the press in the conference room of the Carlton Hotel, located on the famous Croisette, right in front of the sea. In addition to the international press, including the Daily Nautica team, participants included other prestigious guests, including the mayor of Genova, Silvia Salis.
Sanlorenzo: innovation and sustainability looking to the future
Innovation, sustainability, as well as looking to the future of the shipyard as well as cultural and social activities, like Casa Sanlorenzo in Venice and Fondazione Sanlorenzo, were the topics at the heart of the conference.
In spite of the difficult international situation, Sanlorenzo achieved excellent financial results for the first half of 2025. Net revenue from new vessels reached 454 million euros, with an increase of +9.4% compared to the same period last year. EBIDTA grew by 8.5%, settling at 80.5 million euros with a margin of +17.7%. The company has also confirmed that they have an order portfolio equivalent to 1.44 billion euros as of 30 June, which reflects the consistent demand in the over 30 metre segment in its Yacht and Super yacht division, as well as the strong push that came through recent acquisitions, including the strategic presence of Sanlorenzo in the sailing segment through Nautor Swan.
News, premiers and projects still to discover
Sanlorenzo brought 10 yachts and three world premieres to Cannes: SL110A, SX120, SD132. During the press release Mr Perotti also announced the presentation, in the month of October, of the first 74 Steel, the biggest yacht ever built by the Italian shipyard.
He also announced a top secret project by Sanlorenzo, stemming from the fusion of tradition and technology, destined, say the top brass of Sanlorenzo, to write a new chapter in the history of Italian yachting.
