The Italian Sea Group, global operator in luxury boating, have announced the launch of the sailing yacht, “Katana”, the fourth in the 60-metre ketch series by Perini Navi. The launch, which took place in the Marina di Carrara shipyard, marks an important achievement for this ambitious design that unites technology, performance and luxury without compromise.
Developed in partnership with naval architect Ron Holland, the Katana has been designed to provide a unique sailing experience, where safety, comfort and performance are at the heart. The yacht, with hull and superstructure in aluminium and a displacement of around 570 tonnes, has carbon fibre masts, booms and rigging, a choice that guarantees the lightest weight and resistance.
THE LATEST SYSTEMS
One of the main innovations of this yacht, which will be delivered at the beginning of 2025, is the redesigned sail plan, which makes it easier to manoeuvre and optimised performance on the water. In addition, thanks to the latest generation dynamic positioning system, Katana can autonomously maintain its position and direction without the need for an anchor, offering even more comfortable and safe navigation.
